Natural Dyeing

gather here Classes

Natural dyeing is a rewarding way to creatively upcycle! In this introductory workshop, we will cover the basics of natural dyeing - using plants and other things from nature to dye textiles. There are numerous dyes to explore right in your own kitchen, from the pale pink created by dyeing with avocado pits, to the golden yellow of turmeric. Local artist, curator, and gather here instructor, Lisa Purdy will teach participants how to naturally dye with household ingredients and a basic set up. We'll explore how to turnaround an item of clothing (or other textiles!) using natural dye sources.

Limited to 6 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.

  • Level: Beginner!
