Last minute cancellations

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any cancellations with less than 72 hours notice. Of course, if you can’t make a class at the last minute you can always send someone in your place.  Just let us know whom to expect!

Classes Begin Promptly

Give yourself plenty of time to acquire your materials prior to your class. Classes begin at their scheduled time and many of our classes end when the store closes. It's important to us that you get the most out of our classes but if you are running very late it's unlikely we can get you caught up and teach everyone else in your class.

Class Credits

Due to the very limited enrollment in our classes and the special nature of our workshops, classes/workshops are non-refundable. However, if you let us know at least 72 hours in advance, we will transfer you to another class of your choosing or credit your gather here account.

Please email us at with any class cancellation requests. A reply email will have your credit attached.

To use your credit simply enter the 16 digit code that you received into the Gift Card/Discount/Class Pack code field when you checkout.

Gift Cards

When you register for class online you can enter your gift card # into the Gift Card & Discount codes field when you checkout.

Should the new class cost more than your gift card, you'll be able to pay the difference with a credit or debit card.

Guest Artist Workshops

Please note: There are NO store credits given at any time for classes with special guest instructors and artists. Your seat may be transferred to a friend if you cannot attend.

Minimum Enrollment

2 students are required for most classes to meet (details are in the class description).
If a class does not have 2 students registered by 10 a.m. of the class date (or the night before for morning classes), we will remove the class from the calendar, contact the person enrolled and issue a full refund.
We want you to make something and we'll do our best to make sure you can!
Minimum enrollment does not apply to our Youth Sewing series of classes.

Class Materials

All materials are included in our basic classes.
Intermediate and advanced classes often require that you bring your own materials. If the class you registered for requires materials, please check the class description for a complete materials list.

Class Cancellations due to Weather

We rarely close due to the weather but if the city of Cambridge or the MBTA shuts down we will, too. On the rare occasion that this happens we will post revised shop hours on our homepage, the class calendarFacebook, and Twitter. If this closing effects a class we will email and/or call each person to let him/her know as soon as we determine the class has been cancelled.

Overbookings

You will receive a full refund for any overbooked classes. We will contact you ASAP once an overbooking is discovered.

Of course, if your kid(s) can’t make it to a class at the last minute you can always send someone else.  Just let us know whom to expect!

How to Prep Your Quilt

Prepare your quilt for successful longarm quilting by following these steps.

The VERY short answer is that the quilt backing needs to be larger than the quilt top. Always add a minimum of 8" to both the length and width (so you have at least an extra 4" of fabric all around).
