Collection: Lunar New Year

Virginia (owner and dreamer behind gather here) grew up celebrating Lunar New Year. Her grandfather immigrated to the Philippines from China so it was part of their family's traditions. But you may not know this fun fact, Binondo Manila is home to the world’s oldest Chinatown (founded in the 16th century) and remains the center of all Filipino Lunar New Year celebrations.

One of V's favorite memories of celebrating Lunar New Year as a child was banging on pots and pans to ward off any evil wishing to enter the home. Plus huge fireworks, round fruits, offerings to our ancestors, and of course, all the sweet treats.
