Ylva is a beautifully rustic yarn made from 100% German wool—ethically sourced and naturally dyed with care. Formerly known as Schafswolle No. 03, Ylva carries the same trusted quality under a fresh new name.

Wool for Ylva is collected from small farms in Northern and Eastern Germany, then spun and plant-dyed in Hessia with sustainability at the forefront. The dyehouse rigorously tests each batch for colorfastness, ensuring the yarn’s beauty lasts for years to come. This 100% wool yarn has a rustic hand that softens and blooms beautifully after washing, making it a great choice for long-wearing garments, textured stitch patterns, brioche, and colorwork.

Note: Colors 1204 (Madder Red) and 1101 (Reseda Yellow) are richly saturated and may bleed. We recommend pre-washing these shades in a delicates bag on a cold, gentle cycle using a wool-safe detergent.

Indigo shades 1403 and 1406 may rub off during knitting but won’t continue to bleed after blocking. Soap and water easily remove any residue.

As with all plant-dyed yarns, avoid prolonged direct sunlight exposure to prevent fading.
