All Repairs and Services will start with a diagnosis and proceed from there.

We charge a $30 bench fee for the inspection of all machines.

You'll only see this charge if we determine that your machine is damaged beyond all hope, or has impossible to find parts. Then the bench fee covers our technicians' diagnostic work.

There is no bench fee if the repair work is done, this charge is simply folded into the cost of a completed machine tune up.

Clean:internal mechanisms; Oil:(lubricate) all points internally; check andAdjust:tensions (balance), motor belts, retime hook, retime feed, needle/hook relationship, feed height and feed stroke, zigzag pendulum swing.

Repair Policies

Repair generally require parts. If your machine isn't sewing it probably doesn't need to be repaired, it should be serviced.

If something is broken then it needs to be repaired.

We can repair most makes and models. This will depend on parts being available. Note that we do not have access to most electronic components for brands other than BERNINA and bernette.

Repair Only is for broken parts

If a part is broken or missing then that part needs to be replaced and/or the machine needs to be repaired.

This is when you can select 'Repair Only' for your service type.

Note that we can repair most makes and models. It will depend on parts availability. We don't have access to most electronic components for brands other than BERNINA and bernette. Please call if you have questions.

Should you repair your machine yourself?

No. In general we would advise against repairing your machine yourself. This means that you should not remove the covers or make adjustments.

This is not to say that you should not clean and maintain your machine. Your manual should have detailed instructions on how to regularly clean lint from the bobbin area (before it builds up) and where to oil.

What if there's a problem after a repair?

If you're having trouble with something that we worked on then please contact us as soon as possible to let us know. Sending pictures will often help us trouble shoot typical follow up issues.

Sometimes we just need to talk about what's happening. Other times we'll need you to bring your machine back in to the shop. If you do bring it back we'll help with the intake form in the store and you won't need to pay another deposit.

You can also leave the slide on table, accessories case and dust cover at home.

When it comes to presser feet, we generaly only need the zigzag presser foot. If you are having trouble with a particular stitch that uses another foot, please bring that one in as well. If you'd like us to test the buttonhole foot, please bring that foot in.
