Town Bag class - 2 sessions
gather here Classes
We wanted to make a Town Bag as soon as Grainline Studio announced they had collaborated with Fringe Supply Co. to create a sewing pattern of this popular project bag. The Town bag is a great everyday purse and/or a do-it-all project bag, no matter what your project may be.
Addition of tote-style handles and external front and back pockets. It's large enough to fit a Field or Stowe bag inside.
Especially for the adventurous beginner who may not be ready for zippers but wants to practice cutting and working with heavier fabrics, sewing a straight seam, topstitching, and construction techniques.
Limited to 4 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
- Level: Adventurous Beginner. You have successfully graduated from the School of Sewing or the equivalent experience working your way through Sewing Basics, box bags, and pillows.
- We provide: studio space, tools, machines, and expertise.
- You bring: A copy of the Town Bag Pattern (available online or in the store) and fabric per pattern (details on the pattern). You will also need: coordinating thread, webbing, cording, and various notions per the pattern.
- Class length 3 hours per session for a total of 6 hours
Sessions run on Saturday, July 1 and 8 at 3 PM.
*Some Sewing Classes may be scheduled for our downstairs studio. Please contact us if you would prefer not to navigate stairs and we will switch studios.
