*Please note that this is a new parka pattern which has been redrafted for Merchant & Mills' unisex size range. They have also incorporated the hood into the pattern so no need for the hood addition with this pattern. The TN31 Parka pattern has now been discontinued but the hood addition is still available here.
TN34 is a relaxed and versatile interpretation of the classic fishtail parka. Lined or unlined with a hood or ribbing, it can work for all seasons.
Skill Level: Advanced
Format: This is a multi-size digital PDF pattern sent to your email, including unisex sizes XS-3XL.
- This PDF pattern is made up of 6 A0 pages and 108 A4 (or US Letter) pages.
PDF's will include a tiled file, an A0 copy shop file, and your instructions. The tiled file can be used on any home printer and pieced together. It is compatible with both A4 and US letter paper. The instructions can either be printed at home or simply follow along on your computer or phone.
Seam allowances are 1.5cm and are included in the pattern.

Recommended Fabric:
Dry Oilskin, Oilskin (lined version only), Tweed, Woollens, Cotton Drill, Cotton Canvas, Waterproofed Cottons and Linens. Using something like oilskin will ensure it keeps it structural shape, but we think it would look equally good in something more slinky like a Tencel Twill.
For the ribbing neckline, it is recommended to use rib that stretches by half again, i.e. 10cm pieces stretches to 15cm.
For the lining, it is recommended to use fabrics such as brushed cotton, cotton poplin, or a medium weight slip lining in viscose or acetate.
Notions:
- 6 x buttons, approximately 17-22mm (M&M recommends Corozo buttons)

* We suggest lengthening the pattern for men (height 5'10") through the body (see pattern) 0.75" (2cm) in upper line and 3.2" (8cm) in lower line and 2" (5cm) on the sleeve. Please check the finished measurements as this may not be necessary for the larger sizes.
