Intarsia Knitting - Coasters

Have you been curious about knitting intarsia? How about short rows? This small, portable, travel friendly project will help you practice BOTH techniques. AND you create a bold, graphic, fun coaster(s). You'll also learn provisional cast on with a crochet hook and weaving yarn best practices since you'll likely see the BACK side of these coasters.

Limited to 5 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.

  • Level:  adventurous beginner/intermediate - you've successfully completed Knitting Basics and Knitting II.
  • We provide:  Plenty of space, waste yarn, and encouragement.
  • You bring:  yourself, a copy of the hana pattern, approximately 40 yards of worsted/aran yarn in contrasting colors. Size US4 needles or whatever you need to get gauge in straight or circular, size G/H crochet hook, and a tapestry needle. (Gauge is not crucial to this project but will affect the size and the amount of yarn used.) We offer 15% off all materials purchased for class.
  • Class length: 2.5 hours

Last minute cancellations

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any cancellations with less than 72 hours notice. Of course, if you can’t make a class at the last minute you can always send someone in your place. 

Class Credits

Due to the very limited enrollment in our classes and the special nature of our workshops, classes/workshops are non-refundable. However, if you let us know at least 72 hours in advance, we will transfer you to another class of your choosing or credit your gather here account.

Class Materials

All materials are included in our 'Basics' classes.
Intermediate and advanced classes often require that you bring your own materials; please check the class description for a complete materials list.
