About the Yarn >
Imbue Worsted’s 5-ply construction creates a marvelously round and springy yarn with stunning definition in cables and textured stitch patterns. Worsted-spun from next-to-skin soft American Merino wool, Imbue Worsted knits up into a luxurious fabric with heirloom durability.
Rare in a worsted spun yarn, Imbue Worsted’s heathered colorways are blended from an assortment of fleece-dyed solid colors, creating richly complex shades that harmonize beautifully in colorwork and stripes.
In a versatile worsted weight, Imbue Worsted is an ideal choice for soft and cozy sweaters, accessories, and blankets.
Fiber Characteristics >
The wool for Imbue Worsted comes from Merino sheep raised in Utah and Nevada. An ancient breed hailing back to 12th century Spain, the “King of Sheep" is renowned for supremely soft and dense finewool fleeces with lively spring, velvety luster, and superb vibrance of color when dyed. Ideal for cozy sweaters, accessories, and blankets, Imbue Worsted’s 5-ply worsted-spun construction brings smoothness and durability to this wonderfully wearable wool.
Like an artist mixing their paints, brilliantly dyed hues of unspun wool have been blended in precise proportions to create each colorway of Imbue Worsted. When spun, these bright solid colors mingle into richly heathered shades of beautiful depth and luminosity. The initial 12 colorways of Imbue Worsted have been created from combinations of 20 base colors, ensuring harmonious cohesion across the entire palette for colorwork projects or when pairing separates in your hand knit wardrobe.
Care >
Fill a sink or basin with cold water and submerge the fabric in water, gently squeezing out any air bubbles so that the piece can remain under water without being held there. Soak work for several minutes, allowing fabric to become completely saturated. Remove excess moisture by rolling your fabric between clean, dry towels with light pressure. Lay fabric flat and shape to air dry.
We recommend alternating skeins while knitting to distribute the color evenly.
