Supporting non-profits that continue doing the essential work needed in our communities is important to gather here and we think it's important to the people that shop, take classes, and spend time here. This August 2018 our We Care Wednesday recipient is: Y2Y. Y2Y Harvard Square was founded in December 2015,
because they believe that all young people should have a safe place to sleep and the resources they need to succeed.
Y2Y Harvard Square, a student-run overnight shelter, employs a youth-to-youth model to provide a safe and affirming environment for young adults experiencing homelessness. The shelter re-opens on October 15, 2018 with 22 thirty-night beds and 5 one-night cots. Not only a place to sleep and eat but a place to practice self-care and receive assistance with resumes, legal services, medical care, and more.
We're incredibly impressed by the work that the youth behind Y2Y Harvard Square have done and continue to do. You can get involved nightly, weekly, or with your youth group. Y2Y need youth like you to continue offering comprehensive support for homeless youth.
