As you all know, we believe that how we operate our business (what we sell, how we promote our products, who we represent and how we represent them, and the stories we tell through what we make) is a way to change the world for the better. When Jessica (miniature rhino) and Rebecca (dropcloth samplers) reached out to us to see if we would donate a gift card for their Makers for Families fundraiser we immediately said "yes! how much?" We stock both of these women's embroidery patterns and kits and have been long time supporters of their art.
So if you are feeling heartbroken & outraged with the news of separated families, Rebecca and Jessica have teamed up to co-host a series of six auctions featuring over 25 of our favorite makers, artists & shops who generously donated items valued at over $1500. 100% of the funds raised will benefit the ACLU, RAICES Texas & Together Rising, three organizations that are fighting to reunite families & keep them from being separated in the first place. Inspired by the urgency of need and by artists who have used their platform to raise awareness and money, Rebecca and Jessica organized in a mad flurry of activity and a week later have come up with this series of incredible auctions they are so excited to share with you.

RUN TIME: Each auction will take place for a one week duration.

BIDDING: The winning bid will be a direct donation to @raicestexas, @aclu_nationwide, or @together.rising (winners choice). Comment on the original Instagram post with U.S whole dollar amount with what you’d like to bid. We ask that bidding take place in $5 increments at minimum. Don’t include your email address. We will follow up with the winner via DM.

HOW TO WIN & CLAIM YOUR ITEMS: Bid generously! Donations go directly to charity. The winning bidder will be notified via DM and tagged in the post once the auction ends. Once tagged please email makersforfamilies@gmail.com and put “Auction [number] Winner” in the subject line: Make a payment directly to @aclu_nationwide @raicestexas or @together.rising and forward receipt of donation to the above email. You may split your winning bid amount between the listed charities. Payment is due within 24 hours of email confirmation. After 24 hours, your bid is cancelled and offered to the next highest bidder.
