2020 We Care Wednesday: Movement Voter Project

In 2020 we asked the gather here team if there were any nonprofits that they would like us to feature in our monthly We Care Wednesday initiative. This September we are fundraising for the Movement Voter Project. Now more than ever, we need to invest in local groups in these Big Five states. They know how to organize their own communities, and they’ve been building trust with voters long before the current crisis. They need our support to win in November and build toward a progressive future.

#Textiles4MVP is a group of 100+ textile artists around the country organizing for the 2020 election and supporting grassroots organizations in the big 5 battleground states. 100% of the fund will go to 42 local groups in those 5 battleground states to mobilize for the November 2020 election and build long-term infrastructure in their communities.

*Since launching the We Care Wednesday initiative in January 2017 we have donated over $29,500 to a variety of nonprofits doing essential work in our community as well as other places. From the Mayor's Disaster Fund to Girls Rock Boston to Food for Free and RAICES-Texas. We select organizations that we feel represent not only our commitment to a better, more equitable world but also our desire to "do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can."
