Youth School of Quilting - 6 sessions

gather here Classes

Meets Wednesday afternoons from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Students will learn how to measure and cut fabric to piece a throw sized star quilt (for students who have made this quilt we will create the Woven Stripes quilt by patchwork instructor, Laura Glass). We'll discuss the principles of color and pattern in quilting as well as the techniques necessary to finish a quilt. Students will actually use the sewing machine to quilt and then bind their quilts by hand. If time permits students can further personalize their quilts using hand embroidery.
