Year of Socks 2025 - 3 sessions
Year of Socks 2025 - 3 sessions
Have you been dreaming of knitting socks but need emotional support and knitting expertise? This year we'll have a different sock pattern each quarter so by the end of the year you'll have 4 pairs of socks, feel a bit more confident knitting socks, and learn a few techniques as well.
We kick things off in January with Summer Lee's "Thicksgiving Socks" which work up a bit faster due to the fact you hold two strands of fingering weight yarn together. We'll cover the fundamentals of sock construction working from the top - cuff down. If you do your homework between sessions you should be in a good place to finish but remember, you are doing this for fun and we aren't going to scold you if you don't do your homework.
Limited to 5 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
- Level: Experienced Beginner --> Intermediate. You can cast on, knit, purl, increase/decrease, and bind off! You already know how to knit in the round.
- We provide: space, tips, tricks, and expertise.
- You bring: Yourself, your needles (circular 40", US 4 or DPN in size 4), a copy of the pattern, stitch markers and approximately 350-400 yards of sock/fingering weight yarn OR 200 yards of DK depending on length of cuff and size of foot. Don't forget we offer 15% off all materials for any of our workshops.
Sessions run on Saturdays, January 11, 25, and February 8 at 1:30PM.
Note that masks are required on Mondays. You may be asked to mask on other days.
