Tweedy Noir
Tweedy Noir
- 50% Falkland Merino Wool / 37.5% Recycled Wool / 12.5% HHF Thread waste
- DK weight yarn
- 230m/100g
Tweedy is a tweed yarn with colored bits that are HHF's own hand-dyed waste - ties that are taken off the hand dyed skeins and saved.
HHF has been collecting ties for a while and finally found a mill that could process the ties, which means re-carding them, blending and spinning into yarn again. This batch is a lovely black tweed yarn with colorful speckles. It's just calling for sweaters and cardigans.
HHF is always looking for ways to be more environmentally friendly and to minimize waste. On top of their thread waste they are using recycled wool, making 50% of the total content recycled. The result is a yarn that is soft, yet wooly. Not superwash and it blooms beautifully after washing.
Gentle washing will keep your project beautiful for longer. For best results, hand-wash your finished project with a drop of detergent or wool wash. If combining light and dark colors, please swatch as the yarns may bleed. This is especially important if using deep reds. To minimize bleeding, hand-washing in cold water is the safest option.
