Trousers! - 3 sessions
Trousers! - 3 sessions
Ready to tackle trousers with a zipper fly? To kick off another year of sewing clothing that we want to wear, Virginia is excited to lead this trouser making workshop. Suggested patterns that will stretch your skills: Atelier Brunette's LE Pantalon Trouser, Merchant and Mills elasticated waist with button and zipper fly Elling Trousers
or their Juno culottes (elastic at back waist but flat front), Maker's Atelier's Classic Trouser, or Wardrobe By Me's Chino Pants.
We recommend tracing your pattern onto Swedish Tracing Paper prior to class.
If you need someone to take your measurements accurately please ask a craft associate when you come in for your supplies. This may also be the perfect project to create a wearable muslin - we recommend making your wearable muslin out of a similar weight fabric that you intend on using for your final version.
Limited to 4 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
- Level: Intermediate. This is 100% NOT your first garment. You’ve made other clothes in the past - not necessarily tailored clothes, but clothes none the less.
- We provide: the studio space, machines (with super cool automatic button holes), tools and expertise.
- You bring: Fabric you love! Recommended fabrics are: mid-heavyweight cotton canvas, corduroy, light-medium weight woolens, twill, bottom-weight linen, and 8 – 10oz denim. Your total yardage is dependent on your size and style (want it a little longer or maybe cropped?), interfacing, button, zipper, matching thread for hems and pockets, pocket lining, as well as a copy of the pattern. Don't forget that we offer 15% off all class supplies!
- Class length: 3 hours each session for a total of 9 hours.
Sessions run on Sundays, January 5, 12, and 19 at 3PM.
Note that masks are required on Mondays. You may be asked to mask on other days.
