Sashiko Embroidery

Sashiko Embroidery

Introduction to Sashiko:  Do you love embroidery? Are you a quilter? Then you are probably going to love the Japanese art of Sashiko. This simple running stitch to create bold and geometric patterns on textiles has been used for centuries and continues into our current times. We will introduce you to this art form using sashiko sampler fabric and sashiko thread. We'll work on a traditional sampler which you can take along with you. We'll discuss how to use sashiko in a variety of ways as well.

    Great Class

For anyone who loves embroidery, this is a great class to attend! Our instructor, Lisa, was very helpful as she gave each student guidance while working on their project. She was also encouraging in helping each student in the class about developing ideas for ways to inject our ideas into this and future projects. (FYI - I’ll be finishing up the pillow on a later date, but the embroidered portion of the cover is complete. Of course, I had some additional supervision along the way.)
