This workshop utilizes Pellon fusible fleece for structure and absorbency and you get to mix and match fabrics to create something totally reversible. With so many great woven fabrics and prints available it's hard to choose but you'll find yourself stitching these up in record time. We find that pre-washing our fabric gives us best results over time but you do you.

Limited to 4 students(16 yrs of age or older); 2 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.

Level: Adventurous Beginner - You've taken Sewing Basics and have experience using a sewing machine and a rotary cutter.
We provide: a copy of the pattern, fusible fleece, sewing machines, tools, neutral thread for topstitching, and the expertise!
You bring: 1/2 yard of 2 different fabrics to make 2 placemats, thread to match if you are worried we won't have the perfect color in the studio; we offer 15% off materials for all of our classes!
Class length: 2 1/2 hours

Class meets on Thursday, April 3 at 6:00 PM.

Online participants will:

Need to pickup supplies prior to the class session.
Receive a Zoom invitation link the morning of the workshop.

Note that masks are required on Mondays. You may be asked to mask on other days.
*Some Sewing Classes may be scheduled for our downstairs studio. Please contact us if you would prefer not to navigate stairs and we will switch studios.

Last minute cancellations

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any cancellations with less than 72 hours notice. Of course, if you can’t make a class at the last minute you can always send someone in your place.

Class Credits

Due to the very limited enrollment in our classes and the special nature of our workshops, classes/workshops are non-refundable. However, if you let us know at least 72 hours in advance, we will transfer you to another class of your choosing or credit your gather here account.

Please email us at with any class cancellation requests. A reply email will have your credit info attached.

Class Materials

All materials are included in our 'Basics' classes.
Intermediate and advanced classes often require that you bring your own materials; please check the class description for a complete materials list.
