Patchwork Cold Front Block

We’ll make one "pair of mittens" from the Cold Front quilt pattern by Wren Collective. Use the blocks for a winter mini quilt, or make more at home for the full size quilt top! The Cold Front is a modern winter-themed quilt pattern that works well in solids, prints, or both! Fat quarter friendly and traditionally pieced. Download the pdf or pick up a paper copy instore.

Limited to 4 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.

  • Level:  adventurous beginner/intermediate - you have successfully taken sewing basics and quilting basics.
  • We provide: studio space, tools, and expertise.
  • You bring:  yourself, a copy of the pattern, fat quarters in coordinating colors for the mitten (or bring large scraps for more color variation) and 1/4 yard background color.
  • Class length: 2 1/2 hours
Online participants will:
  • Need to pickup supplies prior to the class session.
  • Receive a Zoom invitation link the morning of the workshop.
Note that masks are required on Mondays. You may be asked to mask on other days.
*Some Sewing Classes may be scheduled for our downstairs studio. Please contact us if you would prefer not to navigate stairs and we will switch studios.

Last minute cancellations

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any cancellations with less than 72 hours notice. Of course, if you can’t make a class at the last minute you can always send someone in your place. 

Class Credits

Due to the very limited enrollment in our classes and the special nature of our workshops, classes/workshops are non-refundable. However, if you let us know at least 72 hours in advance, we will transfer you to another class of your choosing or credit your gather here account.

Please email us at with any class cancellation requests. A reply email will have your credit info attached.

Class Materials

All materials are included in our 'Basics' classes.
Intermediate and advanced classes often require that you bring your own materials; please check the class description for a complete materials list.
