This rustic but soft 4-ply is made with Rambouillet wool grown in New York state. It is spongy with a cottony hand and does have a little chaff (hay) in it, the mill I use doesn't use a harsh chemical wash to dissolve it. It's round, balanced structure makes it great for cables & Rambouillet's sturdy but still fine fibers will wear well in mittens & sweaters for years to come.
Mini Empire Heathers are the same wool & twist as Empire but the fiber is a blend of black & white wool combined before spinning & then overdyed for a soft heathered appearance.
Mini Empire is the same great yarn as its big sister, Empire, but put up in 4oz skeins perfect for colorwork, contrast or when you need more than 1260yds.
