Machine Embroidery Basics

Familiarize yourself with the features of the BERNINA embroidery machine. Learn about needles, threads, stabilizers, hoops, and other accessories while we work through exercises designed to increase your knowledge of the machine and explore the creative possibilities. This class is limited to BERNINA owners with recent embroidery models or students interested in using our Bernina embroidery modules during studio time. This class is free for those who have purchased a Bernina embroidery machine from us (use your class code to sign up) or $60.
 

Limited to 3 students (16 yrs of age or older), 2 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.

  • Level:  beginner
  • We provide:  the expertise! workbooks, embroidery thread, stabilizers, and fabric. We'll be working through Workbook 4: Embroidery in class.
  • You bring:  yourself and your sewing machine – don’t forget to bring any bobbins, feet, power cord, the manual & whatever you have that goes with your machine! If you prefer to use a studio machine call us to check to see if we have your model available.
  • Class length:  3 hours
The class is complimentary for owners who have purchased a Bernina from gather here in the last year.

Last minute cancellations
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any cancellations with less than 72 hours notice. Of course, if you can’t make a class at the last minute you can always send someone in your place. 

Class Credits
Due to the very limited enrollment in our classes and the special nature of our workshops, classes/workshops are non-refundable. However, if you let us know at least 72 hours in advance, we will credit your gather here account.

Please email us at with any class cancellation requests. A reply email will have your credit info attached.

Class Materials
All materials are included in our 'Basics' classes.
Intermediate and advanced classes often require that you bring your own materials; please check the class description for a complete materials list.
