Hand Sewing Techniques
An introduction to hand sewing with Virginia. This workshop was developed for those with little to no sewing experience as well as those who are eager to pick up the skill again. We'll cover the VERY basics: threading a needle, knotting your thread, thimbles, and best ways to hold your fabric and tools to prevent fatigue. And then we'll get to stitching!
- Stitch a running stitch (even and uneven)
- Stitch a back stitch
- Stitch a whip stitch
- Stitch a catch stitch
- Stitch an invisible stitch
Limited to 4 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
- Level: Confident beginner.
- We provide: fabric, needle and thread, studio space, tools, and expertise.
- You bring: Optional supplies include threadgloss, beeswax, thread conditioner. Your favorite thread. Don't forget that we offer 15% off all supplies for any of our workshops.
- Class Length: 2 hours
Online participants will:

- Need to pickup supplies prior to the class session.
