First Quilt - The String Thing - 4 sessions
The String Thing is a simple quilt that you’ll piece, make the back, baste, and quilt as well as bind. We really wanted a project that teaches all the steps but is sizable so you get accustomed to quilting on your home sewing machine. This quilt is quite forgiving and you’ll discover how simple it is to mix things up by just “flipping a strip”!
Limited to 4 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.- Level: adventurous beginner/intermediate - you have successfully completed Quilting Basics and Patchwork 2 or equivalent.
- We provide: the pattern, expertise , tools, and machines.
- You bring: 12 to 14 coordinating 1/4 yard cuts of fabric (fat quarters will also work) for top , 2 yards of cotton batting (at least 60” wide), 4 yards of fabric (45" wide) for the backing, a 1/2 yard of fabric for the binding.
- Class length: 2 1/2 hours each session for a total of 10 hours
Class meets xxx, xx 8, 15, 22, 29.
Note that masks are required on Mondays. You may be asked to mask on other days.
*Some Sewing Classes may be scheduled for our downstairs studio. Please contact us if you would prefer not to navigate stairs and we will switch studios.

Last minute cancellations
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any cancellations with less than 72 hours notice. Of course, if you can’t make a class at the last minute you can always send someone in your place.
Class Credits
Due to the very limited enrollment in our classes and the special nature of our workshops, classes/workshops are non-refundable. However, if you let us know at least 72 hours in advance, we will transfer you to another class of your choosing or credit your gather here account.

Class Materials
All materials are included in our 'Basics' classes.
Intermediate and advanced classes often require that you bring your own materials; please check the class description for a complete materials list.
