Curator Talk: One Hundred Stitches, One Hundred Villages: The Beauty of Patchwork From Rural China
Curator Talk: One Hundred Stitches, One Hundred Villages: The Beauty of Patchwork From Rural China
Join us for a presentation and talk with curator, Nancy Berliner on her recent Museum of Fine Arts Boston exhibit: One Hundred Stitches, One Hundred Villages: The Beauty of Patchwork From Rural China. The exhibition and book came out of more than twenty years of research and travels to villages to find women still creating these inspiring works. Comprised of about 20 handmade patchworks by contemporary Chinese women, the exhibit is a "display of everyday craft, serving as a window onto another culture—its lifestyle and enduring philosophy." (Lauren Kaufman, the arts fuse)
