Could this become your favorite lunch bag? Sure. Cosmetics case? You betcha. Art supply storage? Absolutely! We will discuss ways to finish our raw edges (let’s use a serger!), install a zipper, and box a couple corners. 

Limited to 4 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.

    • Level: Confident Beginner. You know how to thread a machine, sew a straight line and wind a bobbin. You have previously taken Sewing Basics and have tackled a few other projects.
    • We provide: tools, thread, instructions, fusible fleece, and encouragement!
    • You bring: yourself, 1/2 yard woven fabric for exterior, 1/2 yard woven fabric for the lining, 22” all purpose zipper and 10 inches of 1” or 1.25” webbing for handle. Don't forget that we offer 15% off all materials purchased for our classes.
    • Class length:  2+ hours each session for nearly 5 hours

    Sessions meet on Sunday, November 1 and 8 at 11:30 AM

    Online participants will:
    • Need to pickup supplies prior to the class session.
    • Receive a Zoom invitation link the morning of the workshop.
    You may be asked to mask. Thank you for your understanding.
    *Some Sewing Classes may be scheduled for our downstairs studio. Please contact us if you would prefer not to navigate stairs and we will switch studios.

    Last minute cancellations
    Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any cancellations with less than 72 hours notice. Of course, if you can’t make a class at the last minute you can always send someone in your place. 

    Class Credits
    Due to the very limited enrollment in our classes and the special nature of our workshops, classes/workshops are non-refundable. However, if you let us know at least 72 hours in advance, we will credit your gather here account.

    Please email us at with any class cancellation requests. A reply email will have your credit info attached.

    Class Materials
    All materials are included in our 'Basics' classes.
    Intermediate and advanced classes often require that you bring your own materials; please check the class description for a complete materials list.
