This lucky cat pin cushion is as charming as it is functional. Harlequin is the name for the coloring of this cat. The cushion is covered with a traditional Japanese fabric decorated by waves. The Seigaiha wave is an ancestral Japanese motif which first appeared in the 6th century. Seigaiha literally means 'blue sea and waves'. It was used to illustrate seas and oceans on maps.
Lucky Cat is made by Hiro Co., Ltd., a company with over 85 years of experience in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. Hiro's work with distinct designs adapting traditional craft techniques nourished in Ishikawa Prefecture is very popular in Japan and highly regarded around the world. They are selected in shops associated with museums or art galleries.
