Asperula tinctoria from the Latin asper, meaning rough, is the name for dyer’s woodruff, a plant often considered as a bit of nuisance, as the flowers cling on to clothes and animal fur. It is found on mountainsides all over Europe. It has a delicate white flower and red roots, which are used for dyeing purposes.

This chart is taken from our spectacular pattern dedicated to Tinctorial Plants in the Museums and Heritage collection. It is embroidered in cross-stitch over two threads of fabric using two strands of Retors du Nord. Easy and amusing, it is perfect for beginners.

This kit contains:

  • 32-count embroidery linen, color cyclamen
  • card of Retors du Nord embroidery floss with the five colors needed
  • cardboard disc and a piece of wadding
  • round tin and decorative sticker
  • pattern chart with all explanations for mounting

Size of the box: height 4cm - diameter 7.3cm.
