This stylish sweater was designed as a friendly introduction to cardigan knitting. Written using accessible language and basic techniques, this top-down design boasts clean lines and a flawless fit.

Brooklyn Tweed's First Cardigan Sweater designed by Jared Flood has a myriad of customizable options like collar and sleeve style, body length, and three sizes of charming, optional patch pockets, your sweater will be completely unique and entirely your own.

Limited to 5 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students are required for class to meet If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.

  • Level:  VERY adventurous beginner - Intermediate. You know how to knit, purl, cast on and cast off. You feel pretty confident increasing and decreasing. This pattern is written to introduce you to cardigan knitting and is very (*very*) thorough!
  • We provide: moral support, expertise, measurement techniques, and great company
  • You bring: a copy of the pattern (available online) and worsted weight yarn (we suggest Brooklyn Tweed Shelter or their Tones), US 7 circular 16” and 32” (or longer), US 5 circular 16" and 32" (or longer) for ribbing, DPNs in both needle sizes, a darning needle, buttons (optional), tapestry needle and waste yarn, and stitch markers (8 stitch markers!). Don’t forget that we always offer 15% off class supplies!
  • Class length: 2 1/2 hours each session for 4 sessions

Class meets four times on Thursdays, August 18, September 1, 15, and 29 at 6 PM.

Online participants will:
  • Need to pickup supplies prior to the class session.
  • Receive a Zoom invitation link the morning of the workshop.
Note that masks are still required for workshop & studio time participants.
