Hallow'd Hues: Dyes to Die For

Hallow'd Hues: Dyes to Die For

In this introductory workshop designed for the spookiest time of the year, you will work with bundle as well as immersion dyeing to create the colors of fall.  In this 3 hour workshop you will learn the basics of bundle dyeing with marigolds and rusty metal - how to prepare your fabric for best results. You'll also practice immersion dyeing techniques, again with marigolds plus madder, logwood, and avocado pits. 

Limited to 8 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.

  • Level: Beginner!
  • We provide: EVERYTHING! studio space, tools, ingredients, fabric to test dye colors and techniques, silk kerchiefs for bundle dyeing, and expertise.
  • You bring: YOURSELF! Please wear clothes you aren't afraid will get wet or dyed. Aprons are awesome! If you have small pieces of fabric or all natural garments (linen, cotton, wool) you would like to add to the immersion bath please bring these too.
  • Class length 3ish hours

Last minute cancellations
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any cancellations with less than 72 hours notice. Of course, if you can’t make a class at the last minute you can always send someone in your place. 

Class Credits
Due to the very limited enrollment in our classes and the special nature of our workshops, classes/workshops are non-refundable. However, if you let us know at least 72 hours in advance, we will credit your gather here account.

Please email us at with any class cancellation requests. A reply email will have your credit info attached.

Class Materials
All materials are included in our 'Basics' classes.
Intermediate and advanced classes often require that you bring your own materials; please check the class description for a complete materials list.
