Alter your own clothes like a boss
Learn the basics of fitting alterations like shortening the hem of your pants or taking in the sides of a shirt. This lecture workshop highlights what can be done to alter clothing and what you might decide to skip or take to a professional. Using dress forms and sample RTW (ready-to-wear) garments, Virginia will demonstrate proper pinning techniques and then how to work from your pins.
Limited to 5 students (16 yrs of age or older);
2 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.- Level: beginner
- We provide: expertise and demonstrations
- You bring: yourself, if you have something you've been thinking about altering have that on stand-by for questions, paper/tablet for taking notes.
- Class length: 2 hours
- Need to pickup supplies prior to the class session.
- Receive a Zoom invitation link the morning of the workshop.
*Some Sewing Classes may be scheduled for our downstairs studio. Please contact us if you would prefer not to navigate stairs and we will switch studios.

Last minute cancellations
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any cancellations with less than 72 hours notice. Of course, if you can’t make a class at the last minute you can always send someone in your place.
Class Credits
Due to the very limited enrollment in our classes and the special nature of our workshops, classes/workshops are non-refundable. However, if you let us know at least 72 hours in advance, we will transfer you to another class of your choosing or credit your gather here account.

Class Materials
All materials are included in our 'Basics' classes.
Intermediate and advanced classes often require that you bring your own materials; please check the class description for a complete materials list.
