Magic Square Knit Potholder

Magic Square Knit Potholder

We are absolutely obsessed with this pattern! The potholder is knitted in the round as a rectangle. It’s then folded and grafted and almost like magic becomes a square. Finished size is a 7 inches square! The pattern contains charts for four different stranded versions. The main instructions are the same for them all.

Limited to 4 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.

  • Level:  adventurous beginner/intermediate - you've successfully completed Knitting Basics and Circular Knitting.
  • We provide:  expertise and encouragement.
  • You bring:  yourself, a copy of the pattern, approximately 200 yards of fingering weight cotton per potholder. Size 0 needles or whatever you need to get gauge in straight or circular, and a tapestry needle; we offer 15% off all materials purchased for class.
  • Class length: 2.5 hours
Online participants will:
  • Need to pickup supplies prior to the class session.
  • Receive a Zoom invitation link the morning of the workshop.

Last minute cancellations
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any cancellations with less than 72 hours notice. Of course, if you can’t make a class at the last minute you can always send someone in your place. 

Class Credits
Due to the very limited enrollment in our classes and the special nature of our workshops, classes/workshops are non-refundable. However, if you let us know at least 72 hours in advance, we will credit your gather here account.

Please email us at with any class cancellation requests. A reply email will have your credit info attached.

Class Materials
All materials are included in our 'Basics' classes.
Intermediate and advanced classes often require that you bring your own materials; please check the class description for a complete materials list.
