Haslam Hat Pattern - PDF DOWNLOAD

The Haslam Hat sewing pattern is an incredibly quick sew that produces a wonderfully cozy hat. This versatile gently square-topped beanie features multiple design options and sizes. While most adult heads will fit the middle size, smaller and larger options are also included.

Choose between ear flaps, a classic beanie hem band, a pom pom, and fun tassels. Instructions include creative finishing details such as how to create the fleece tassels and a yarn pom pom. This design can be sewn in many fabric types and is a great way to use up scraps of fleece, old sweaters, and soft knits.

This pattern, as part of the Quarry Workwear Collection, is a comfortable yet rugged design that is meant to be worn hard. Create a hand-made wardrobe ready to tackle any project.

Recommended Fabrics:

Medium weight sweater knit fabric such as sweatshirt fleece, lofty French terry, or flannel.

Optional Contrast Lining: lightweight sherpa, sweatshirt fleece, or flannel.

Materials Needed:

• Ballpoint sewing machine needle
• Thread

Optional:

• Sewing clips rather than pins. Use clips where instructions say to use pins.
• Hand sewing needle: for sewing with bulky fabrics and to attach a pom pom or tassel.
• 1 small skein of yarn (at least 50 yds) for pom pom
• An additional 1/2 yd of self fabric - for tassels and ties
• 1 yd of twine or similar strength string - for attaching pom pom or tassel
• 1 palm-sized piece of cardboard to make pom pom, or pom pom maker
