A foray into Improv Piecing! This mini quilt is perfect for getting into the mood for spooky season!

We’ll ditch the precise measuring and cutting to explore the basics of improvisational piecing. By the end, hopefully everyone will see improv piecing isn't scary at all!

Limited to 4 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.

      • Level:  experienced beginner/intermediate - you have successfully taken both Sewing Basics and Quilting Basics. Important requirement: can sew a consistent ¼” seam
      • We provide: the pattern, 20"x20" quilt batting, tools, machines, neutral thread, and expertise.
        • You bring: 3/4 yard background color, 1/2 yard web color, 18"x18" backing fabric, 1/4 yard binding fabric, and optional handful of accent color scrap fabric. Don't forget we offer 15% all supplies for any of our workshops.
        • Class length: 3 hours each session for a total of 6 hours.

        Sessions run on Thursdays, October 8 and 15 at 5:30 PM.

        Last minute cancellations
        Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any cancellations with less than 72 hours notice. Of course, if you can’t make a class at the last minute you can always send someone in your place. 

        Class Credits
        Due to the very limited enrollment in our classes and the special nature of our workshops, classes/workshops are non-refundable. However, if you let us know at least 72 hours in advance, we will credit your gather here account.

        Please email us at with any class cancellation requests. A reply email will have your credit info attached.

        Class Materials
        All materials are included in our 'Basics' classes.
        Intermediate and advanced classes often require that you bring your own materials; please check the class description for a complete materials list.
