The history of Merchant & Mills
Carolyn Denham and Roderick Field founded Merchant & Mills in 2010 to bring English bespoke traditions to sewing patterns, scissors, and notions. Their goal was to elevate sewing in the creative world, respect its craftsmanship, and inspire people to make their own clothes.

The sustainability of Linen
Composed of flax, linen is durable, biodegradable and the process to create it is relatively energy efficient. Growing flax requires little more than rainwater and the whole plant can be used in linen production.
