May Year of DK Hats KAL

Hooray for another edition of the Year of Hats from Kelbourne Woolens. Alongside designs from Kate and Courtney (founders of Kelbourne Woolens), six guest designers have contributed one-skein patterns featuring beautiful cables, engaging textures, and clever construction. All designs were made with Germantown DK - a US-made yarn that is known for its durability, color-fastness, and awesomeness.

We’ll have each month’s project kits available in the shop which include the pattern, hat label, stitch markers but you'll have the opportunity to choose your favorite color for your hat. We really do love Germantown yarn but if you want to try something else, we're happy to make suggestions.

This KAL is free with kit purchase. Don’t want the kit? You can still participate, the class is $30 and you can download the pattern through Ravelry.

  • Limited to 7 students (16 yrs of age or older)
  • Level:  Advanced Beginner - Intermediate (you know how to knit, purl, cast on and cast off.)
  • We provide: moral support and great company
  • You bring: the KW May Year of Hat kit (available after May 1), a copy of the pattern, and appropriate needles. Don’t forget that we always offer 15% off class supplies!
  • Class length: 2 1/2 hours
Online participants will:
  • Need to pickup supplies prior to the class session.
  • Receive a Zoom invitation link the morning of the workshop.

Last minute cancellations
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any cancellations with less than 72 hours notice. Of course, if you can’t make a class at the last minute you can always send someone in your place. 

Class Credits
Due to the very limited enrollment in our classes and the special nature of our workshops, classes/workshops are non-refundable. However, if you let us know at least 72 hours in advance, we will credit your gather here account.

Please email us at with any class cancellation requests. A reply email will have your credit info attached.

Class Materials
All materials are included in our 'Basics' classes.
Intermediate and advanced classes often require that you bring your own materials; please check the class description for a complete materials list.
