Come to our pant making party!
You’re finally ready to take on "hard pants". What are "hard pants"? Those are pants with either a zipper/button fly front or zipper on the side seam. They are usually made from "bottom weight" fabrics with little to no stretch. Think jeans. Or chinos. Or trousers.
Perhaps you simply want a true weekend of sewing, with other people that are passionate about making their own clothes. You've been dreaming of 18 hours at gather here making something truly awesome.
We will start our "weekend" on Friday, taking measurements, tracing the pattern, and cutting out your pants. Saturday we'll focus on basting and fitting our pants. Then on Sunday it's all about modifications and stitching. We'll take a 30+ minute break to grab a snack so we can keep our heads in the game.
Limited to 4 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
- Level: Intermediate-Advanced. You are way beyond pj pants and are comfortable using a sewing machine and even a serger. You have plenty of handmade clothing you are proud of. You finished the last garment project you stitched.
- We provide: studio space, tracing paper, tools, machines, and expertise.
- You bring: A copy of the pattern you want to make (this could be Ginger Jeans, Quinn Trousers, WBM Chinos, Aina Trousers, Lander Pants, Quadra Jeans, and so many more!) fabric you love (it doesn't have to be denim - a stretch twill or wool works great, too), interfacing, pocket lining fabric (should you have pockets), zipper/buttons as needed, and coordinating thread for top stitching. We offer 15% off all materials purchased for class.

- Class length: 6 hours each day.
Class meets July 26, 27, and 28 from 12 to 6 PM.
Note that masks are required on Mondays. You may be asked to mask on other days.
*Some Sewing Classes may be scheduled for our downstairs studio. Please contact us if you would prefer not to navigate stairs and we will switch studios.

Last minute cancellations
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any cancellations with less than 72 hours notice. Of course, if you can’t make a class at the last minute you can always send someone in your place.
Class Credits
Due to the very limited enrollment in our classes and the special nature of our workshops, classes/workshops are non-refundable. However, if you let us know at least 72 hours in advance, we will transfer you to another class of your choosing or credit your gather here account.
