We Care Wednesday: Monkeyhouse

We Care Wednesday: Monkeyhouse

Supporting non-profits that continue doing the essential work needed in our communities is important to gather here and we think it's important to the people that shop, take classes, and spend time here. This December 2018 our We Care Wednesday recipient is: Monkeyhouse.

On Small Business Saturday, someone responded to Ayanna Pressley's #smallbizsaturday love tweet with some area businesses that she felt were important to the community. We were one of them. But she also included a small business, JP Licks, because not only do they have great ice cream but they support a local nonprofit she loves, too. That nonprofit is Monkeyhouse. We looked them up. And we love what they stand for, too.

Monkeyhouse is an award winning, Boston based nonprofit that connects communities to choreography. They believe that encouraging people to move with meaning is vitally important in these times of economic uncertainty when many feel disillusioned, stuck, and depressed.

*In January 2017 we launched our We Care Wednesday initiative. By donating 5% of our sales each Wednesday, we were able to raise $9,000 for Greater Boston non-profits in 2017. This kind of targeted weekly giving is just another way we can focus our community-based business on doing good in all the ways we can. We are proud to continue this effort in 2018.*
