We are now 6 months into book club and have wrapped up discussions about Justina Ireland's DREAD NATION, Esi Edugyan's WASHINGTON BLACK, and Ingrid Rojas Contreras's FRUIT OF THE DRUNKEN TREE.
We're excited to announce that the community selection for July Book Club will be Maryjane Satrapi's PERSEPOLIS. In stark black-and-white comic strip images, Satrapi tells the story of her childhood in Tehran, years that saw the overthrow of the Shah’s regime, the triumph of the Islamic Revolution, and the devastating effects of war with Iraq.
