March 2021 We Care Wednesday

The EMA Fund envisions a world where every person has the right to bodily self determination including the means to access an abortion or carry a pregnancy to term without social or economic barriers. The EMA Fund envisions a world where every person has the right to determine their own future. March is Women's History Month and as the great Hillary Rodham Clinton once said, "Women's Rights are Human Rights." We learned about the National Network of Abortion Funds when our friend and crafter-of-all-things, Lesley, participated in a Bowl-A-thon fundraiser with her team, the Ruth Bowler Ginsburgs, for Missouri Abortion Funds. UPDATE: We donated $810 to EMA!

Since bowling still isn't really a thing in our pandemic world (but hey, you can participate in the Fund-A-Thon!), we figure it would be better just to make the Eastern Massachusetts Abortion Fund our We Care Wednesday recipient. The EMA Fund is an all-volunteer organization and their volunteer activists work one-on-one with callers who need help. Want to give directly? Donate HERE.

P.S. If anyone in Massachusetts is on a Fund-A-Thon team please let us know!!! We want to help you fundraise!

*Since launching the We Care Wednesday initiative in January 2017 we have donated over $44,500 to a variety of nonprofits doing essential work in our community as well as other places. From the Mayor's Disaster Fund to Girls Rock Boston to Movement Voter Project and Found In Translation. We select organizations that we feel represent not only our commitment to a better, more equitable world but also our desire to "do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can."
