Atelier 27, known in France as Atelier VingtSept, is an independent French fabric brand founded by Athénaïs Raty who grew up in the textiles industry in Lyon. The brand designs and releases exclusive limited-edition fabric collections in small batches — printed in France, Italy, and Portugal using responsible, quality-first production methods. Every VingtSept print is created in France and released in intentionally limited quantities. VingtSept designs fabrics meant to last as well as inspire people to sew, wear, and keep wearing.Â

We chose the Charlie Caftan (View B) in viscose crepe. What is viscose crepe? Viscose is a human-made fiber produced from wood pulp (often beech, eucalyptus, or bamboo). It is then transformed into a textile fiber through a chemical process. The result: a fluid, breathable, silky-soft material that is particularly comfortable to wear. Ecovero-certified viscose guarantees a more environmentally friendly chemical transformation process. Crepe is a weave - creating a crinkled or pebbled surface. The effect produces a fabric that is wrinkle-resistant and elegant.
We paired the Wave Float top with WBM's Summer Shorts pattern for a fun, beachy fit. Worn with a crescent-shaped Crossbody bag, it's perfect for heading out on adventures. This cotton-linen outfit is breathable and any creases/wrinkles can be softened with steam. The shorts have front pockets as well as back patch pockets!
La Robe Chemise is also sewn in Viscose Crepe. The soft drape of this fabric is perfect for the gathered back which hangs delicately. The side slits are finished with bias tape and even though the collar, button band, and cuffs are interfaced the silhouette remains soft. Viscose Crepe is easy to care for: wash in cold water and air dry. Steam or light press from the wrong side. And that's it! Comfortable and fluid it just might become a staple in your handmade wardrobe1
