In 2024 we collaborated with the Cambridge Modern Quilt Guild, displaying a number of quilts created by members during the annual Cambridge Open Studios. We also hosted a sew-in for community members to meet and stitch with the guild, those quilt blocks created two community quilts that were donated to local non-profits.
We have an example from 2024 that you can check out in-person during the 2025 Open Studios, September 20 and 21 from 11AM-6PM. Stitch a half square triangle with members between 12 and 3 PM on both days, check out our longarm quilting machine in actions (quilting a survivor quilt), and view their Summer Quilt Challenge that asked members to use lyrics to answer the question "What's Going On?" 18 quilts will be on display including these! (Featured quilt by Chelsea Harmon, "Torn" (40" x 40"), Song Artist: Natalie Imbruglia) Engage with guild members, learn more about quilting, and visit other sites in the neighborhood sharing artists living and working in our community!
