UPDATE: We raised $628 for one of our all time favorite nonprofits! Did you miss out on our March We Care Wednesday initiative? Donate to GRCB directly!
Girls Rock Campaign Boston (GRCB) is a volunteer-driven music and mentorship organization that offers year-round programming to girls, women, trans and gender non-conforming youth and adults in the Boston area. We know quite a few girls and women that have participated in the campaign and they all said it was "transformative!" (and FUN!).
GRCB believe that in order to become leaders in a world that frequently minimizes the voices of girls and other marginalized gender identities, youth need an enriching environment with positive mentors to encourage a healthy sense of self and confidence in their abilities. GRCB has built a supportive community in Boston that uses hands-on music education and performance as a vehicle to encourage confidence and collaboration while fostering creativity and self-expression.
GRCB was a recipient of our 2017 We Care Wednesday initiative and we decided that this Women's History Month we wanted to highlight the great work they are doing. Plus we really do know quite a few girls and women that have participated and volunteered for the campaign and every single one of them had wonderful things to say about their experience.
*In January 2017 we launched our We Care Wednesday initiative. By donating 5% of our sales each Wednesday, we were able to raise $9,000 for Greater Boston non-profits in 2017. In 2018 we raised $11,000 for Greater Boston non-profits. This kind of targeted weekly giving is just another way we can focus our community-based business on doing good in all the ways we can. We are proud to continue this initiative in 2019.*
