2019 December We Care Wednesday: Liam's Lunches of Love

Supporting non-profits that continue doing the essential work needed in our communities is important to gather here and we think it's important to the people that shop, take classes, and spend time here. This December 2019 our We Care Wednesday recipient is Liam's Lunches of Love.

Liam Hannon lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts in Central Square. In July 2017, Liam got up the nerve to approach strangers in need, with his father at his side, and gave out 20 meals he’d hand-packed. "If everyone made lunch for someone less fortunate one day a week...no one would be hungry," Liam Hannon, now age 12. Since the summer of 2017, Liam has inspired people all over the country to get involved. You can help Liam deliver meals in Cambridge or join his Million Lunch Challenge. In the fall of 2018 we made dopp kits and collected toiletries for Liam to hand out with the 75-100 lunches he (and friends/volunteers) deliver each week. We are sewing throughout December to create 100 dopp kits to help those in need this winter. Please join us!

*In January 2017 we launched our We Care Wednesday initiative. By donating 5% of our sales each Wednesday, we were able to raise $9,000 for Greater Boston non-profits in 2017. In 2018 we raised $11,000 for Greater Boston non-profits. This kind of targeted weekly giving is just another way we can focus our community-based business on doing good in all the ways we can. We are proud to continue this initiative in 2019.*
