Patchwork Koala

gather here Classes

We’re offering three crafting opportunities to learn something and help us fundraise for WIRES (NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service Inc.)! For the stitchers - join us for a one session koala block workshop featuring Elizabeth Hartman’s popular pattern. Using conventional patchwork techniques you’ll create ONE koala which you can use to create a throw pillow or a quilt. It’s up to you!

Limited to 4 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.

  • Level:  Intermediate - you have taken patchwork basics or another patchwork class with us. You know how to thread a machine, can sew a straight line, and are comfortable using a rotary cutter.
  • We provide:  The studio space, tools, and expertise. And the profits from this workshop will benefit WIRES Australian Wildlife Rescue Organization.
  • You bring: Fabric you love! And a copy of the Koala pattern (available in the store)! Please see the pattern for fabric requirements. Gather Here always offers you 15% off any of your supplies for class.
  • Class length:  3 hours
Online participants will:
  • Need to pickup supplies prior to the class session.
  • Receive a Zoom invitation link the morning of the workshop.
Note that masks are still required for workshop & studio time participants. *Some Sewing Classes may be scheduled for our downstairs studio. Please contact us if you would prefer not to navigate stairs and we will switch studios.
