Knit Lit! Join us for a monthly community book club where we'll discuss a book and knit. Only requirement is that you read the book. The Knit Lit Book Club is hosted by our knitting friend, Barbara Elfman. Barbara has chosen to kick off the Book and Knit Group with an oldie but goodie. The title is The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs. There are lots of copies available in the Minuteman Library System as well as audiobooks for those of you that like to knit and listen to your books. Or pick up a copy at Porter Square Books, one of our favorite book stores. They have ebooks, too!
Other handcrafts are obviously welcome! Future book suggestions are also welcome.
About Barbara: Barbara learned to sew, crochet and knit as a very young girl. Needlework has always been a part of her life and she never goes anywhere without a project. One of her favorite things to do other than knit is to listen to books while knitting! She also loves to share with fellow knitters books that she has read while enjoying knitting together. Barbara lives in Cambridge, has a husband, three grown children including a daughter who knits and a 15 year old cockapoo who loves to sit next to her while she knits and listens to books. Barbara works at a local university and has degrees in art history and art & education. Besides knitting and reading (or listening to books), Barbara enjoys cooking, travel and rowing on the Charles.
